This session will provide participants with a look at what youth civic engagement really looks like in times of political and social tumult.
Join the MCLC Civic Fellows as they discuss their “civic journey” in conversation with elected and appointed officials as well as with educators and civic education and engagement advocates. This session will provide viewers and participants with a close look at what youth civic engagement really looks like in times of political, social, and cultural tumult, how young people are putting their classroom civics learning into practice, and how educators and other allies, including elected and appointed officials, can best facilitate and support young people in their efforts to become active, informed, and engaged participants in our democracy. Participants will dissect and discuss real-world examples of youth civic action and audience members will be afforded ample opportunity to interact virtually with the participants via questions and comments submitted in real time.
This session is organized by the MCLC Civic Fellows.
