What is Civics?

March 11 @ 12:00 am - March 15 @ 11:59 pm

EST  | Virtual

To celebrate Civic Learning Week, Connecticut students, teachers, civics experts and practitioners, and government officials recorded their answers to questions about the importance of civics.

Their meaningful and inspiring responses are available to explore as an online “exhibit” at ctdemocracycenter.org/civic-learning-week and on the Connecticut Democracy Center’s YouTube channel:

– “What comes to mind when you hear “civics”?” – https://bit.ly/43bOvdT

– “Why is it important for students to learn about civics in school?” – https://bit.ly/3V669hr

– “What tools or information should people learn early in life to prepare them for a lifetime of active civic participation?” – https://bit.ly/48MTMtP

– “Why is it important for young people to be involved in their communities?” – https://bit.ly/48SdvrP

– “How can we cultivate a culture of civic responsibility and active civic participation?” – https://bit.ly/49I95W1

Send your own responses to these questions to Brian.Cofrancesco@ctdemocracycenter.org.

These videos were recorded for the Connecticut Democracy Center’s celebration of Civic Learning Week 2024! Learn more at ctdemocracycenter.org/civic-learning-week.
