Did you know Vermont has a Kid Governor? Highgate 5th grader Roslyn Fortin was elected to a 1-year term in January on a platform of supporting people experiencing homelessness. The six candidates she was running against make up the Kid Governor’s cabinet. Since we’ve got a kid government, why not a kid press corps?! Join But Why, our podcast for curious kids, for a kid-friendly press conference where the audience becomes the reporters!
Kids are invited to come ready to ask questions of Vermont’s Kid Governor and her cabinet and get answers about the big issues facing Vermont and how kids can get involved. Don’t worry if you’ve never been to a press conference before; But Why host Jane Lindholm will explain it all. This event will be a fun way to learn more about civics and media literacy. All are welcome, but the suggested age range is 3rd-7th grade.
