Four Score Speaker Series: Fortifying Our Democracy

Join Lincoln Presidential Foundation March 12th at 8pm Eastern/7pm Central for a one-hour webinar that will screen the first two segments of their short documentary series “Fortifying Our Democracy: Lincoln’s Lyceum Address” followed by a discussion with Dr. Kate Masur and Dr. Saladin Ambar led by Lincoln Presidential Foundation CEO Erin Carlson Mast.

“Fortifying Our Democracy” was produced by Lincoln Presidential Foundation in 2023. The series explores the events that led Abraham Lincoln to deliver his speech, “The Perpetuation of Our Political Institutions,” to the Young Men’s Lyceum in 1838 and the civic lessons we can take from it today.

Experts featured in the series include ​Dr. Kate Masur, Professor of History and Board of Visitors Professor at Northwestern University; Dr. Saladin Ambar, Professor of Political Science and Senior Scholar at Rutgers University’s Eagleton Institute of Politics Center on the American Governor; Dr. Angela G. Ray, Associate Professor and the Associate Dean for Graduate Education in the School of Communication at Northwestern University; and Dr. Manisha Sinha, the James L. and Shirley A. Draper Chair in American History at the University of Connecticut.
