During Civic Learning Week, we will gather at the Maryland General Assembly on Wednesday, March 11, from 2:30–5:00 PM for an advocacy visit focused on strengthening civics education, with special attention to statewide civic seals. Civic seals recognize students who demonstrate civic knowledge, skills, and engagement, and they signal that participation, service, and democratic responsibility are valued statewide.
This visit offers educators, students, and community partners the opportunity to share firsthand experiences with lawmakers and explain why strong civic pathways matter for classrooms and communities. We are excited to come together in support of policies that elevate civics, empower young people, and ensure Maryland students graduate prepared for thoughtful participation in public life. https://www.mdcivics.org/advocacy2026
