We will celebrate the official launch of CivicsNJ, a new non-partisan coalition dedicated to advancing civic learning and engagement in the Garden State. In an engaging morning, we will highlight the work of civics practitioners, leaders, educators and students, and explore how CivicsNJ can build a more informed and engaged citizenry in New Jersey. National thought leader Professor Danielle Allen will be our keynote speaker, emphasizing the critical role of local communities in revitalizing American civic education. iCivics’ own Shawn Healy will share insights on national trends in civic education and the successes of other state coalitions. Students, educators and other community leaders will also speak about the future of civic education in New Jersey.
