Cardinal Civic Learning Day brings in a variety of guest speakers to have interactive discussions with students about civic engagement and participation. This year’s slate of speakers include representatives from the League of Women Voters, Wisconsin Conservation Congress and Youth Conservation Congress, several Necedah Area School District board members, Necedah Town Board Chair-town government, Necedah Town Board Clerk-local voting protocols and registration, the Necedah Village Administrator-village government, Necedah Area School District Financial Officer-overview of School finance and how to read a property tax statement, and Necedah Area School District School Resource Officer-how the law changes for 18 year olds and law enforcement questions, and the Necedah Area School District Transportation Manager-a former law enforcement officer will talk about the importance of public service and the importance of the “public” in public service.
