The Commonwealth Club’s education initiative, Creating Citizens, is hosting a program on March 8th for local high school students. Three Bay Area classrooms will converge at our offices for a 3-hour field trip. The program will be centered around civics education, civil dialogue, and will feature:

Small-group, breakout activities
Lunch
This will be the 2nd Field Trip Program we’ll have hosted for local high school students. The main speaker, CA Secretary of State Shirley Weber, will talk to students about her journey through California politics, the importance of civics education, and other civil dialogue-related issues. The date for this program was chosen intentionally as March 8th is both International Women’s Day and also falls during Civic Learning Week.
