This session will explore the role of student representatives to School Committees in Massachusetts, as governed by M.G.L. c. 71, s. 38M, with the aim of detailing the scope of this civic engagement opportunity, available to all high school students, and sharing the benefits and challenges of bringing much-needed student perspective to the work of local government policymaking in the field of education. Panelists will include current and former Student Representatives as well as current/former School Committee members.
